Walking & Biking Trails,  Mahone Bay

Mahone Bay is a walker's town since its core is flat and has an almost unobstructed view of the ocean. One little problem is the fact that  Main Street was never meant to carry automobiles and sidewalks are not continouous on the two sides of the street. The roadway is not a safe place for unaccompanied bicycle riders, so many of them are competitors for the narrow sidewalks which edo xist.

Aside from the bay walk, (seen in part, above) there are many less crowded  interesting back streets which give the pedestrian a great outloook on period outbuildings and private gardens. Finally, there are feeder trails from here to the Canada Trail system which follows the path of the old railway bed connecting with Lunenburg and Chester.
