Another Mahone Bay variant of the Queen Anne, this one on Fairmont
Street near the Anney River. The half-circle window in the gable is
derived from the Palladian. . Notice that there is a three-sided
embayment covering two floors.

Street. Because of the verandas, these homes all managed to look grand
whatever the area of their floor plan.

404 Main Street appears to be an Edwardian knock-off of
these earlier homes. Aside from its size it qualifies as an example of
the style known as "Victorian Plain" (1880-1915). Notice that the full
cornice is actually faked.
